you've got me there

You've got me (there). {informal} (="You have stumped me; I have no answer." — something that you say when you do not know the answer to a question) — не могу ответить; затрудняюсь ответить

Example 1: 'How many miles is five kilometres?' 'You've got me there.' (CIDI)

Example 2: . Where was I last night? Well, officer, you've got me there.

You can use this spoken expression if you don't know the answer to a question, or because you don't want to give an answer to a question because you know it will get you into trouble.
